So you've got an awesome product but need to find people to spread the word.
But where can you find awesome brand ambassadors that can promote your brand and mission?
I've got you covered, in this article we'll talk about 6 different places to find brand ambassadors:
- Existing customers
- Customer support
- YouTube
- Bloggers
Existing Customers
This is the best place to start.
People who already own your product or use your service as the perfect candidates for ambassadors.
They already love your product and more importantly, already have it!
To find your existing customers in Shopify, you can go to your Shopify Admin > Customers.
You can then sort by Amount spent (high to low).
The customers that spend a lot of money on your shop are the best candidates. This means they own many of your products and are happy with your company.
You can reach out to them via email. Click on the customer and their email will appear on the right hand pane.
In your email be sure to include your portal link and commission rate.
Customer Support
Your customer support system is also a great place to check for ambassadors.
Whether you use Zendesk, Intercom or just plain old email - look for instances where your customer had a great experience.
Customers who have a good experience with your support are good candidates for promoting your products.
Send them an email saying you've just launched and ambassador program and be sure to include your portal link and commission rate.
Instagram is a great place to find brand ambassadors. The search capability in Instagram makes it simple to find influencers in your niche.
For example, if you are selling mens fashion, try search for the #mensfashion hashtag. If you're searching for candle lovers, search for #candles.
Once you've found one influencer you like, you can follow them and Instagram will automatically suggest other influencers for you to follow.
By repeating this trick and continually following suggested influencers, you can get a list of influencers very quickly!
Be sure your Instagram profile has content you're proud of before you message.
Keep your message short, sweet and to the point. Make sure you include what's in it for the ambassador!
Remember small accounts can perform just as well or better for you. Small accounts typically have higher engagement and are more likely to respond.
YouTube
You can find YouTubers for all kinds of niches.
Search the main niche you're in the YouTube search bar.
Once you've found a video you like, you can open their channel up.
On the About tab, you can usually find an email address for business inquiries.
Not all YouTube channels have a business inquiry email. If they do not, see if they have a social account where you can send them a direct message.
You can also check the description of their videos for contact information.
Once you've found one YouTuber you like, check out the suggested videos in the sidebar!
You can often find another YouTuber and continue this cycle to get a large list of YouTubers to contact.
Bloggers
Bloggers often write about certain products they're fans of or do reviews in exchange for a commission.
The best way to find bloggers in your niche is to add the word "review" or "compared" to your Google search.
For example, if you sold dog food, you could search "Best dog food for corgis compared" or "Corgi dog food review".
Or for if you sell mens fashion, you could search "Best mens joggers compared" or "Mens joggers review".
The more specific you can make your search, the better bloggers you can find.
You can also scroll to the bottom and see some of Google's suggested searches to find more bloggers.
Once you've found a blog you like, there is usually contact information in the footer.
Send them a pitch and make sure to include your commission percentage.
Most bloggers will be willing to review your product if you send it to them and pay them a commission on every sale generated with their code.
The first place to find brand ambassadors on Pinterest is to look at public boards.
Public boards are usually centered around a topic, such as home renovations, mens fashion, dog toys, or anything else you can think of.
These boards will lead you to a ton of relevant Pinterest accounts in your niche.
The next way is to use the same technique for finding bloggers.
Since Pinterest has a search engine, you can search for your niche and add keywords such as "review" or "compared" to find brand ambassadors.
Once you've found some accounts you like, you can send them a message in Pinterest.
